Who is Lateef Adebayo Edalere?

Portrait picture of Lateef Adebayo Edalere?

Lateef Adebayo Edalere was born on August 5th, 1939.

His early education was in Nigeria before emigrating to England in the early 60s where he studied accountancy. In 1978, he was ordained into Christian ministry and spent the rest of his life in dedicated service until his death in 2010.

The name “Edalere” is defined as: "The creation of man is a profit to God”.

To Mr Edalere, the most precious of these lives were children.

He loved the youth.

He taught, mentored, encouraged, and facilitated summer programmes to enrich young lives in West Africa and, later, the West Indies.

His legacy

He was adept at recognising those who were often overlooked. Everyone was important to him, and he became a surrogate father to many.

This is the legacy that we hold closest to our hearts and the inspiration for the Lateef Edalere Foundation.
